RubyClover Ornie Time!

Absinthe Beauty and Chloroform Angel Ornament

Lawdy lawd! Has it really been 5 months since I've posted here?! Jeesh :/ We can blame that on a few life changing family matters and my long summer holiday in Ireland. Which was absolutely fabulous by the way :) You can check out some of my photography from this trip in my newest Etsy shop, TheIrishStill.

Christmas, or SMAX as I often refer to it due to a typing error that caught on among friends, is hauling ass upon us even though it seems like it was 95 degrees just the other day. So I've been whipping up some decoupaged ornaments as I do every September, so far I've got some Irish inspired ones and others that have that sexy vintage look...the usual pleasing themes you can always find at RubyClover :)

Double Duty!

I've started a second blog :)   http://rubyclover.wordpress.com/

I'll be doing double duty, updating both with giveaways and Etsy features etc. The other one is going to be geared towards my summer travel, places to visit in Ireland and a general Irishness all around. Stay tuned to both blogs, I've got 4 giveaways in the works right now and at least one will be on here. I'll leave you with one of my newer items added to my Etsy shop...a trio of distressed wood frames ♥

Giveaway...

It's not my own, but it's the next best thing...one of my Etsy pals! She's giving away a super cute pair of wire wrapped earrings with a purple stone. Very pretty and totally free if you just leave a comment on her blog with your favorite item from her shop. She's randomly picking the winning comment on St. Patrick's Day. Good luck!

Irish summer, looking forward to it...

Here we go again! Well we have a few months yet before we actually leave, but I can already imagine myself taking in huge breaths of that fresh air. It smells different there. Earthy. Mossy. Salty. Ancient. I'm always energized the moment I step out of the airport and breathe it in. I wish I could bottle it and bring it back to Chicago with me (yet I'm always ecstatic after a month of travelling to get back to the best city in the world). We'll be all over the island again, but a good chunk of time will be spent in Co. Kerry. I haven't been down that way in 10 years, so I'm super excited about that. Now I just need to practice my digital photo skills so I can come home with some nice shots for the aul shop . Would be nice to recover some of what I'll lose in the feckin currency exchange...the only drawback!

February Winner!

#9...SUSARTO!

Thanks Susie Q, pouchlette en route this afternoon! And the winner just had to be someone that knows how to sew properly! Hope you like it after inspecting it for defects ♥

THANKS FOR PARTICIPATING, EVERYONE!!! I really appreciate all y'all taking the time to visit my wee blog and all the input on your faves in my shop.

February Giveaway!

Alright here's the scoop...I have approximately 8 billion and two bins of new and vintage fabric, vintage zippers, vintage buttons, lace trims etc. Yet I can barely sew a straight line. I've been hoarding all these sewing notions for years for the day that I magically become a master seamstress, sometimes I sell some of it in my vintage shop too.

So for this giveaway I'm offering up the first thing I've ever put a zipper in...a colorful little clutch! It turned out pretty good I think, except that I meant to make a wristlet but forgot to add a strap! Baby steps :)

December Giveaway...

I want to eat these, they look like sweet little bubble gums.
So obviously we have here one very talented jewelry designer who has so kindly offered up a pair of her earrings for this months giveaway. She's my dear friend Sarah De Quadros from Co. Kerry in the gorgeous southwest of Ireland. She's a seasoned world traveller who became inspired by the Artesano culture while living in South America. She draws upon that inspiration and makes vibrant and sophisticated jewels that she sells in shops around Ireland, at art fairs, on her own website and on Etsy. Her jewelry is really well made, using only the finest materials. I own several pairs of her earrings and have given her jewelry away as gifts, the recipients always adore her pieces.
THANK YOU SARAH ♥
